Sheltered Instruction is a method to reach the students in your classroom that do not have rich vocabularies. One Sheltered Instruction method is SIOP, Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol. SIOP includes 8 steps to meeting the needs of your Standard English Learners (SELs) and English Language Learners (ELLs).
